The Status of WWIII

Wretchard at the Belmont Club makes great reading, as usual, with his latest post, "World War 3". Today, he gives us his opinion on how things are going in the War on Terror, and what he sees are the main focal points. He also delivers a scathing lash to the Left, due to its lack of intelligent discourse since 9/11. He sees this very one-sided argument as very unhealthy, and I agree.

By the way, I feel that the War on Terror is better termed as World War IV; World War III, essentially, was the Cold War. You'll never see politicians name it as either, though, since it's too politically charged. That's really too bad: we -- and the world -- have as much at stake in both the Cold War and the War on Terror as we ever did in WWI and WWII, and perhaps even more.

The US unilaterally declaring a war against 14 dead men and their mates because 3,000 people were killed in NYC doesn't make a world war my friend. Dream on.
