Spirit of America

You want to help America's effort to win the War on Terror, but don't know how? Whether or not you agreed with the Iraq War to begin with, almost everyone can agree that helping Iraqis -- food, toys, computers, technical assistance, etc. -- is good for them right now, and good for us in the long run. Winning the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people isn't some government propaganda. It's showing them that Americans are truly their friends, and that we're not only good at warfare, but we're good at peace, too.

So, if you want to help, go to the Spirit of America Web site. It's mostly run by bloggers (such as Armed Liberal from WindsOfChange.net), and they have quite a vision of what this organization is capable of. What they do:

Spirit of America (SoA) is a nonprofit, charitable organization that helps Americans serving abroad improve the lives of people in need. We enable American military, Foreign Service and reconstruction personnel to submit requests for goods that will help local people.

Give.
