My Kind of Democrat

Paul Berman has a great op/ed piece up on the New York Times site today -- really a must-read. If more prominent Democrats had acted like him since 9/11, I'd take their party much more seriously than I do when it comes to foreign affairs and War on Terrorism. At some point, somewhere in the mid to late 60's, the Democratic Party changed to something uglier than it had been under JFK and even Roosevelt. It's sad, really. While the leaders of the Democratic Party are running around screaming about conspiracies, the absolute need for the U.N. and multilateralism, and collective guilt for past crimes to perceived focus groups, I can't sign on. If Paul Berman was the rule, and not the exception, I might feel differently.
